Terrible cold wood? Haunted house full of bats? No, not like this. Just a small sombre chamber. A little room - the place of an unpredictible murder in cold blood. The main action takes place at midnight in this modest-sized room, which kept its frightening secret only few minutes...The room was "as black as pitch with the thich darkness for the shutters were close fastened through fear of robbers". The room seems to be filled with the precaution of the coming Death...The main hero uses the bed as weapon to kill an old man. And since the bed is the murder weapon, it seems that the bedroom is the burial place. While reading a story, I felt a little gasping for breath and claustrophobic, my lungs lacked the air as this little chamber was absorbing it.
Oksana, would you dwell a little bit more on the setting presentation? How does it contribute to your understanding of the story?

Deleteas history itself, the settings is extraordinary... and the room seemed enveloped in a desperate gimmick and enslavement of his soul...
